Terms and Definitions

SPICE – Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis. SPICE was originally developed by the University of California, Berkeley. It is a modeling tool used by electronic design engineers to determine the behavior of circuits.
Analog Modeling – A modeling technique that uses SPICE transistor and analog behavioral models.
CSDF – Common Simulation Data Format – The format of the simulation results file that is read by DR. SPICE.
Mixed Signal Simulation – The application of different modeling techniques - levels of abstraction - to different parts of a circuit design.
