Assistant Media Planner

The Assistant Media Planner will support and contribute to the planning, executing and maintaining of media campaigns at our full-service advertising agency.  This person will demonstrate a strong desire to become an expert across all media types, won’t shy away from an Excel spreadsheet, likes to dig deeper, and is excited to learn basic media math.

Media channels utilized are Video (traditional and streaming), Radio (traditional and streaming), Digital (including Social and SEM), Out of Home, Placed Based, and Print as applicable.

Although this position is entry level, we are looking for pro-active candidates that want to become marketing experts in terms of media habits, consumer behavior, trends, and other marketplace nuances of media advertising.


Exposure to the media process from initial strategy development thru execution including final campaign analysis

  • Create and maintain media databases, media authorizations, insertion orders and billing contracts and manage quality controls
  • Responsible for the processing of past due accounts payable billing and keeping estimates and insertion orders current and accurate
  • Monitor digital campaigns for ongoing pacing
  • Pull and review digital campaign reporting to determine optimization recommendations
  • Compiling and analyzing syndicated target research (MRI, Simmons, Nielsen, Scarborough) for internal discussion to help shape media plan
  • Maintain day-to-day agency/vendor communications
  • Produce POVs on media opportunities
  • Develop solid understanding of client’s local markets, client category and competitive activity
  • Ensures smooth campaign launches – Develops specs, QA launches and provides screenshots
  • Helps to traffic digital campaigns
  • Provides media intelligence to grow client’s knowledge base
  • Responsible for documenting meetings and action items via conference reports


  • Excel knowledge a must (formulas, linking multiple tabs, construction of mathematical double-checks, etc.)
  • Strong communication and math skills required as well as good writing and presenting skills
  • Candidates must be highly organized, pro-active and have the ability to multitask
  • Possess a willingness to learn and the ability to work with a team
  • Detail-oriented, creative and analytical
  • Curious to uncover the next exciting media opportunity
  • Capacity to troubleshoot and solve problems (Accuracy in work is a must)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Background in advertising, business or finance a plus
  • Previous exposure or interest in media planning is preferred
